30 Days in New York is Now All One Needs to Vote After Mayor Signs Non-Citizen Bill

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has officially changed voting forever in New York City. Adams enacted the measure Sunday allowing over 800,000 non-citizens to vote In municipal elections. The city council first passed the law last month.

The eligibility rules to be allowed to vote are useless, granting “voting rights to any adult who has been a lawful permanent resident in the city for more than 30 days” , reports National Review. A lawful resident for only 30 days gives them the same voting power as lawful citizens who have lived there for decades or their whole lives.

“If it survives a legal challenge” notes National Review, “New York City will be the first to institute such a law. Under the law, legal non-Americans would be able to vote for a number of elected positions including the mayor, comptroller, public advocate, borough president, and council member.”

Undocumented immigrants in theory would not be granted the right to vote under this measure. Additionally, the law does not allow individuals to vote for president or members of Congress in federal election races or state gubernatorial elections.

Some localities that already allow noncitizens to vote in their elections include eleven towns in Maryland and two in Vermont. “I believe that New Yorkers should have a say in their government, which is why I have and will continue to support this important legislation,” said Adams in a statement Saturday.

“While I initially had some concerns about one aspect of the bill, I had a productive dialogue with my colleagues in government that put those concerns at ease. I believe allowing the legislation to be enacted is by far the best choice, and I look forward to bringing millions more into the democratic process” he added.

Violation of the Constitution. Extending voting rights to non-citizens nullifies and therefore abridges the voting rights of US Citizens. Start with Amendment 14 and Article 1, Sec. 8
Clause 4 which defines citizenship. The 15th Amendment specifically protects the right to vote of US Citizens. The 19th extends the protection to women “citizens of the United States.” The 24th targets poll taxes and protects the voting rights of “citizens of .the United States.” The 26th lowered voting age to 18 year old “citizens.” Its pretty damn clear that the drafters of theses Amendments never considered everyone physically in the US to be citizens and that only citizens have voting rights.

This is totally illegal and should easily be fought against and won if there is any sensible people out there. Somebody here illegally already broke the law. If a person is not legally a citizen then logically they cannot vote in our elections.
