AOC Breaks Down After Republican Says Men Can’t Get Pregnant: They Think ‘Climate Change Isn’t Real!’
On Thursday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) blew up during a House hearing after a Republican member stated that biological males cannot get pregnant. Ocasio-Cortez, who claimed in 2019 that the world was going to “end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” attempted to rebut the Republican member’s statement by claiming Republicans don’t think climate change is real.
While being questioned by Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) during the hearing, Planned Parenthood Dr. Bhavik Kumar claimed that “men can have pregnancies, especially trans men.”
“Somebody with a uterus may have the capability of becoming pregnant, whether they’re a woman or a man,” Kumar claimed. “That doesn’t make a difference.”
“OK, we’re done,” Clyde replied.
“Not every person with a uterus has the ability to become pregnant,” Kumar said. “This is medicine.”
“I can’t believe it’s necessary to say this, but men cannot get pregnant and cannot give birth, regardless of how they identify themselves,” Clyde said. “Why in the world would Democrats have brought in a person whose title is ‘director of trans care’ for an abortion hearing when only biological women can become pregnant?”
Ocasio-Cortez broke down in response to Clyde’s statement, claiming: “The same folks who … told us that COVID’s just a flu, that climate change isn’t real, that January 6 was nothing but a tourist visit … are now trying to tell us that transgender people are not real.”
“And I would say that their claim is probably just as legitimate as all their others, which is to say not very much at all,” she claimed.
Notably, Ocasio-Cortez claimed in 2019 that climate change will “destroy the planet” in 12 years if humans do not address the issue, regardless of the cost.
“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’ ” Ocasio-Cortez said at the time.
