Biden Will Give in to Taliban August 31 Deadline Despite G-7 Leaders Asking U.S. to Extend Presence

Afghanistan’s Taliban is calling the shots, rendering President Joe Biden and his administration impotent. The Taliban swiftly took over the country, began going “door-to-door” to punish, i.e. murder, Christians, those who supported Western countries and anyone they deemed “foes.” The Taliban immediately began giving orders to President Biden such as demanding a full troop withdrawal by August 31. And now, the Taliban is refusing to allow Afghan citizens to leave the country.

Breaking Tuesday, “President Joe Biden has decided, in consultation with his national security team, to stick with the August 31 deadline for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, according to a senior administration official” reports CNN. News comes after emerging reports suggest CIA Director William Burns held a secret in-person meeting with Taliban leader Abdul Ghani Baradar yesterday.

The White House told CNN Biden spoke Tuesday morning to the G-7 group just after 9:30 am Eastern for a mere seven minutes. He is expected to deliver his public remarks later in the day. G-7 allies have urged the United States to extend its presence in Afghanistan in order to continue evacuation efforts, despite warning from the Taliban.

Biden chose to adhere to the Taliban rather than Western allies. Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen stated Monday that their organization has made it clear that “our leadership will take proper and necessary decision(s)” if the United States remains past August 31. The “US must adhere to removing troops from Afghanistan by this date. Otherwise, it will be a clear violation.”

And “adhere” Joe Biden did.
