‘Dear Twitter, you are not the judge of humanity’: GOP freshman blasts Twitter for censorship

Newly-elected Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, (R-GA) is making major moves in her first month as a congresswoman. 

Greene is undoubtedly outspoken when it comes to her views on current events, which landed her a spot in the “Banned from Twitter Club.” No, that isn’t a real club, but maybe it should be. 

Greene was locked out of her Twitter account Sunday for allegedly committing “multiple violations” on the platform. 

Following her suspension, Greene unleashed a smashing Twitter thread, reminding the Big Tech giant that they are not “the judge of humanity.”

“Dear Twitter, contrary to how highly you think of yourself and your moral platitude, you are not the judge of humanity. God is,” she said. “And you and the rest of your pals from the Silicon Valley Cartel are not God. Difficult for you to grasp I know, however it’s the truth,” she urged. 

“The tweets that you deem ‘appropriate’ and ‘safe’ and ‘true,’ compared to tweets you deem ‘inciting violence’ and ‘spreading false information’ and ‘claims of election fraud is disputed’ are so many times, in the opinion of many, quite hypocritical and false.” 

Greene went on to beg perhaps the most important question of the century: why do they allow content that might be considered “obscene” but silence speech they disagree with? 

“For example, [why] do you allow these types of things on your platform? Porn. Iran’s Ayatollah, who declares his intent to destroy Israel, who is our greatest ally. Hashtags on tweets like #killtrump?” she asked. 

“Yet you continuously abuse conservative’s opinions and free speech by canceling us. You see, suspending and banning people every time one of the self appointed twitter police cries ‘@twittersafety!’ when their feelings are terribly hurt by reading a tweet they disagree with does not make it the right thing to do.” 

She continued to accuse the platform of feuling the current political divide in America. 

“Actually, you are playing a very big role in the dangerous divide of Americans and violating people’s guaranteed right of free speech,” she wrote. “As you know, there are always consequences to every action. You learned that recently after you banned @realdonaldtrump. Within days of banning him, your stock tumbled 12% and you lost $5 billion in market share.”

Greene also released a statement Sunday night denouncing censorship by “socialists.” 

“Conservative Americans shouldn’t be afraid to speak their mind,” she said. “They shouldn’t have to fear being canceled by American corporations where they work, do business, and use services. They shouldn’t be scared into submission by Socialists who want to end their way of life.” 

This isn’t the only thing Greene has been vocal about. 

The freshman representative also announced last week that she plans to file articles of impeachment against Joe Biden after his inauguration for “abuse of power.”

“I would like to announce on behalf of the American people, we have to make sure that our leaders are held accountable,” she said during a Newsmax interview, according to BizPacReview. “We cannot have a president of the United States that is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies.”
