Pelosi Ready To Throw Down: House speaker is preparing Dems for a fight

With the election just 5 weeks away, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is not wasting any time.

The Speaker has begun rallying her Democratic troops in the event of a tied Electoral College, which would send the fate of the presidency to the House of Representatives, according to the New York Post.

If neither Trump nor Biden secure an outright win, the House would then decide who becomes president through a process that would allow each of the 50 state delegations one vote.

In other words, who receives the vote is determined by an internal tally of each lawmaker in the delegation, meaning the presidency may not be decided by the party that controls the House itself, but by one that controls more state delegations in the chamber.

And while an Electoral College tie hasn’t happened since 1876, with all that is going on in the country, it is not out of the question for it to occur in this year’s historic election.

Currently, Republicans control 26 state delegations to the Democrats’ 22.

And, in the wake of the ongoing Supreme Court fight between Senate Republicans and Democrats, a battle inside the House would be brutal.

With this, Pelosi is aware and on the move.

In a letter to House Democrats on Sunday, Pelosi (D-Calif.) urged them to understand just how much is at stake come November 3.

“The Constitution says that a candidate must receive a majority of the state delegations to win,” Pelosi wrote. “We must achieve that majority of delegations or keep the Republicans from doing so.”

In this highly intense scenario, a single-seat could determine whether a delegation is Democratic or Republican, potentially setting off ferocious legal battles in the states to pick winners, according to a report by Politico, via the New York Post.

Nancy Pelosi has been actively pursuing the issue with her leadership team, and House Democrats have said they are aware of the concerns.

Meanwhile, according to the New York Post, Trump talked about the possibility of the House deciding the election during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

“And I don’t want to end up in the Supreme Court and I don’t want to go back to Congress either, even though we have an advantage if we go back to Congress – does everyone understand that?” Trump said. “I think it’s 26 to 22 or something because it’s counted one vote per state, so we actually have an advantage. Oh, they’re going to be thrilled to hear that.”

With the Senate at war over voting on Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, the coronavirus pandemic continuing to run rampant, and the civil unrest in several cities throughout the U.S, a battle in the House would be the icing on top of a very messy cake.

But, it can’t be ruled out just yet.

Pelosi should be in jail along with her buddy hillary. I’m sure they were both in on the collision scandal together.
