Schumer backs statehood for Puerto Rico, DC if Democrats take back Senate
Schumer: “I’d love to make them states!”
52…? Nifty United States!
Democrats are fired up to take back the Senate, and big changes could be on the way if it happens.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said “everything is on the table” if Democrats win the Senate majority, including granting Puerto Rico and Washington D.C statehood.
“I’m not busting my chops to become majority leader to do very little or nothing. We are going to get a whole lot done. And as I’ve said, everything, everything is on the table,” the New York Democrat said on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” on Wednesday, via the New York Post.
He also said that Senate Democrats are “using all the tactics [they] can” to slow down or block the confirmation of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
When asked about the possibility of making Washington and Puerto Rico states, Schumer confirmed that literally, anything is possible.
“I would — believe me, on D.C and Puerto Rico, particularly if Puerto Rico votes for it, DC already has voted for it and wants it. I’d love to make them states,” he said.
With the election only 33 days away, Democrat candidates are doing all they can to defeat their Republican competitors.
And if they accomplish their goal, the “50 nifty United States” may be no more….

Don’t forget American Samoa and Guam. Maybe they could make some of the islands in the Hawaiian area into states as well.

Hi, Leo…just a little laugh for you, I remember singing Fifty Nifty United State in chorus in high school, and to this day I can name all of the 50 states in alphabetical order, I have to sing it when I do, but I can do it…LOL The downside is my voice isn’t what it used to be due to damage to damage to my vocal cords, so my grandchildren laugh like the dickens when I sing. I just have to say I’m so very proud of you! It took such courage what you did and I’m truly impressed! Love ya, Leo!
