TERRELL: ‘If he starts a new party, I and 75 million plus go with President Trump’

The Senate leadership needs to step up and identify themselves either as Trump republicans or what I call country club republicans.”

In the wake of Joe Biden’s inauguration, rumors are swirling that President Trump may be looking to start his own political party, the Patriot Party.

Leo Terrell appeared on Lou Dobbs Tonight with a reaction.

“Let me answer that and thank you for allowing me to be on the program, Lou,” he said. “I am a Trump supporter. I will follow Donald Trump.”

Terrell called out the Senate leadership for failing to take a solid stance on the impeachment trial and their loyalty to President Trump.

“The republican party is at a crossroad,” he said. “The Senate leadership needs to step up and identify themselves either as Trump republicans or what I call country club republicans,” he added. “I am very disappointed and upset with the Senate leadership and Lou, as this Senate impeachment trial hangs over the president, we need to know where the republican senators stand because I honestly believe that the Donald Trump republican party – 75 million strong – changed the republican party. It’s a party that was enlarged. It brought me over. It enlarged the base. You know why, Lou? Because Donald Trump put Americans first.”

Terrell urged that if President Trump starts a new political party, he will join it.

“These Americans that are in the Senate need to step up and identify themselves as to where they stand. If not, I go with President Trump. If he starts a new party, I and 75 million plus go with President Trump.”

“I concur with your analysis on McCarthy and McConnell. I find it disingenuous for those two leaders, so called leaders, to comment on a decision regarding the impeachment proceeding without hearing the evidence,” he said.

Terrell called the impeachment trial “frivolous.”

“I’m a lawyer, and last time I checked, I thought I heard Donald Trump on January 6th exercise his first amendment right. Lou, I didn’t hear anything from Donald Trump’s speech and I challenge the democrats and these two republicans to point out what did he do to warrant this impeachment, which I call frivolous and this frivolous trial.”

“And I will submit to you also right now that what Kevin McCarthy and what Mitch McConnnell are doing, they are carrying the water for the democrats. They are basically being used by the democrats to bring down the most productive president in four years. People dislike Donald Trump’s personality, but I’ll tell you right now, he accomplished more than any of his predecessors in four years,” he concluded.

But there is still a problem: Rampant fraud in blue states run by democrats!, plus corupt polititians, corrupt judges,
corrupt courts, corrupt election officials, the voting machines that facilitated the fraud are still there.
It doesnt matter if Trump still have his 75 million voters to vote for him again, the election can be stolen again.
The only way it will be possible of a clean election, is to make the “dirty democrat states” where the fraud was commited leading to the “stolen election from Trump, make the democrats stay away 500 feet from all election equipment and let an independent party handle the voting machines, vote counting, eledction results report same night. I firmly believe the senate election was stolen in Georgia too, it lead to a recount where it was stolen a 2nd time. But the republicans deserve to lose the senate for their behavior.

You are right Teresa. It has bad connotations with extreme right-wing. It should be something non-partisan, like constitutionalists or free-speech, since the cancellations have been enduring. Also, the tea party was ravaged by Republicans by the IRS and dividing them. This party if created needs to learn from that.

Amen Leo–right on the money! McConnel and McCarthy somehow believe rolling-over on Trump will make life easier for them. They shpuld know better! It is a Dem ploy to divide and conquer that the Repub leaders just don’t see. If they turn on Trump this loyal republican will vote third party!

I’ll Stay with President Trump. I won’t become a Turn coat like some Republicans have done.

I support the transformed Republican Party. The Party of we the people. All my life I’ve said a pox on both their houses but now there’s a Party I can support. If Trump can continue to lead it and build on it, that’s fine with me. But as a practical matter, if he runs in ’24 he’ll be 78 and I firmly believe that a majority of the electorate, after 4 more years of an aged Biden, will be looking for a much younger and charismatic leader. The Republican Party or a Patriot Party needs to keep that in mind. If Trump becomes ‘a king maker’, the winnowing needs to start now. Currently it’s 74 million against 82 million. What’s the Party going to do to capture the hearts and minds of enough of those 82 million to win? A separate Patriot Party may simply split the Republican vote and the Democrats win again. So the Democrats will be cheering if a split happens. We also need a Party that does not depend on Trump being the leader. It must be able to continue without him. He’s not getting any younger.

    January 22, 2021 at 10:27 pm

Yes, the Democratic Party has gone mad. A big chunk of the Republican Party has been tainted and corrupted. A new political party leaded by our POTUS would be awesome. All the ones who love and treasure this country, law and order, would join. TRUMP is the MAN! ????????????????????????

  23. Kathy Hogge

    January 22, 2021 at 11:21 pm

I agree with you Leo! 75 Million Americans will go with Donald Trump where ever that is & people like Mitch McConnell & Jevin McCarthy will be left to their own devices. To impeach Prsident Trump with no evidence, to even call him out with no aevidence is absolute insanity on the part of either side if the aisle!!!

‘Every Word Of This Is False’: Ted Cruz Factchecks Ilhan Omar’s Attack On Coach Kennedy Prayer Case

Rep. Ilhan Omar

On Monday night, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) factchecked Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) after she made multiple false claims about the Supreme Court ruling in Kennedy v. Bremerton School District, in which the Court ruled 6-3 that a public high school football coach in Washington state had his First Amendment rights violated when he was punished by his school district for praying on the field after games where students could see.

As previously reported, “In 2008, high school football coach Joseph Kennedy began a tradition of praying at midfield after each game. Over time, his players and even members of the opposing team began to join him. In September 2015, a school administrator addressed the matter with Kennedy after an opposing team complained and the coach briefly stopped his prayers.”

“On October 14, 2015, Kennedy told the school district that he was planning on resuming his prayer tradition at the next game. The school district told the coach that his prayers violated the district’s policy, but Kennedy continued to pray at the next two games. The school district subsequently placed him on administrative leave, banned him from participating in the football program, and refused to renew his contract for the following season. Kennedy took the issue to federal district court, arguing that the school district had violated his First Amendment rights,” the report added.

In response to the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Kennedy, Omar tweeted, “The Supreme Court just ruled that public school teachers can pressure students to join in prayer at public school events but can also retaliate against those that don’t join in. Religious freedom is dead in America.”

“Every word of this is false,” Cruz responded.

Omar’s claim that the Supreme Court’s decision allowed to teachers to “pressure students to join prayer” is false. The Court’s ruling just protected Coach Kennedy’s religious freedom to pray publicly.

Omar was also incorrect in claiming that there would be retaliation against students who did not join Kennedy in prayer – the coach’s tradition of praying after games began with him praying alone at midfield after football games. Kennedy’s school district even noted that Kennedy had “not actively encouraged, or required, participation.”

Additionally, in contrast to Omar’s claim that “religious freedom is dead in America,” the Supreme Court ruling actually strengthened protections of religious freedom.

Writing for the majority opinion, Justice Neil Gorsuch explained, “Respect for religious expressions is indispensable to life in a free and diverse Republic—whether those expressions take place in a sanctuary or on a field, and whether they manifest through the spoken word or a bowed head.”

“Here, a government entity sought to punish an individual for engaging in a brief, quiet, personal religious observance doubly protected by the Free Exercise and Free Speech Clauses of the First Amendment,” Gorsuch added. “And the only meaningful justification the government offered for its reprisal rested on a mistaken view that it had a duty to ferret out and suppress religious observances even as it allows comparable secular speech. The Constitution neither mandates nor tolerates that kind of discrimination. Mr. Kennedy is entitled to summary judgment on his First Amendment claims.”
