White House Says Biden Resumed His Exercise Regime But Can’t Answer What The Regime Even Is

On Tuesday, the White House gave an update on President Biden’s COVID-19 infection, saying he felt well enough to resume his exercise regime – but White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was unable to answer what that regime even was.

“President Biden completed his five-day course of PAXLOVID last night,” White House physician Kevin O’Connor said in a memo to Jean-Pierre. “His symptoms have now almost completely resolved. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear. The President now feels well enough to resume his physical exercise regimen.”

During Tuesday’s press briefing, Jean-Pierre told reporters that Biden had been given permission from O’Connor to resume his exercise regimen.

“What sort of exercise is he doing?” a reporter asked.

“I knew that was gonna come!” Jean-Pierre said. “I knew, and I should have asked. I mean, look, I think it says a lot, and I spoke to Dr. O’Connor earlier today, that the president is feeling, you know, well. And we should be thrilled and wanting him to have that negative test. I’m sure you guys are waiting for that as well, so you can see him in person, that he is doing well enough to say that he wants to work out. I think it’s been reported in the past that he likes to do weights, and, you know, he likes to do the treadmill. I don’t think I’m sharing anything confidential here. But yeah, I think, it brought a smile to my face when I saw that he wants to work out.”

While it is unclear what Biden’s exercise routine is, it is unlikely that the 79-year-old is engaging in activities as rigorous as a bike ride through the park. Just a few weeks before testing positive for COVID-19, Biden managed to fall off his bike while stationary.
