Zelensky: ‘I Want Every Mother’ Of Russian Soldiers To See Sons’ Atrocities

During a speech on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the mothers of Russian soldiers, saying that he wants them to see the bodies of civilians killed by their sons.

“I want every mother of every Russian soldier to see the bodies of the killed people in Bucha, in Irpin, in Hostomel. What did they do? Why were they killed?” Zelensky said.

“What did the man who was riding his bicycle down the street do? Why were ordinary civilians in an ordinary peaceful city tortured to death? Why were women strangled after their earrings were ripped out of their ears? … How did all this become possible?” he said.

On Sunday, images surfaced of bodies covering the streets of Bucha, a city about 30 miles outside of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. A mass grave filled with nearly 300 corpses was also discovered, causing Zelensky to call the atrocity “genocide.”

“The lifeless bodies of at least 20 civilian men line a single street in the town of Bucha near the Ukrainian capital. Some lie face down on the pavement while others are collapsed on their backs, mouths open in a tragic testament to the horrors of Russian occupation,” CNN reported. “The hands of one man are tied behind his back with a piece of white cloth. Another man lies alone, tangled up in a bicycle by a grassy bank. A third man lies in the middle of the road, near the charred remains of a burned-out car.”

“Corpses of executed people still line the Yabluska street in Bucha. Their hands are tied behind their backs with white ‘civilian’ rags, they were shot in the back of their heads. So you can imagine what kind of lawlessness they perpetrated here,” Bucha mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk told Reuters.
